Gene Ingram LeedyChief Executive Officer of Protected Trust, LLC
An active computer user since the age of eight, Ingram Leedy graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in computer engineering and systems analysis. In 1994, Mr. Leedy founded both iThink, Inc., a regional Internet Service Provider (“ISP”), and Webcode.com, a web development and hosting company.
He successfully managed and grew both companies until they were acquired, respectively, in May of 2000 by Volaris Communications, a leading ISP, and in 2003 by Earthlink. In 2003, Mr. Leedy then founded Elephant Outlook, which was an early adopter of Microsoft’s hosted Exchange platform.
Sensing the growing demand for secure email and communication services, he conducted an extensive search and found a company called SenditSecure founded by Dan and Joel Sanderson in 2008. In 2010, Elephant Outlook acquired the technology of that company and created Protected Trust Envoy.
Actively involved in local economic development, Mr. Leedy is the President of the Winter Haven Economic Development Council, board member of the Winter Haven Chamber of Commerce and a foundation trustee of both Polk State College and Florida Polytechnic University.
